Alanya and surroundings had been settled by many civilizations in the past. Those civilizations created many structures, monuments and work of arts. The ruins established by old civilizations survived until now. Some of them are Syedra, which was located approximately 20 km eastern part of Alanya, Leartes located in Taurus mid valley, which is 25 km away from Alanya, Iotape located on 33 km of Alanya highway, Hamaxia, Cibra ruins, Alara caravansary and castle and Şarapsa caravansary were located in the east of Alanya.
