ALANYA NATURAL BEAUTIES

     Alanya possesses the quality of getting attracted by tourists with historical potentials, sun, sea, climate, delicate sandy and blue flagged beaches, mountains, forests and caves.

Beaches: Damlatas is situated in the peninsular, where the castle existed is in west slope and Cleopatra beaches extending two kilometers is blue flagged beaches. In the east direction of peninsular, where the settlement extending along with the beach is respectively Begonville beach, which is in 3 km length and Portokal beach, which is in 1 km length, they are also blue flagged beaches. Blue flagged is the international practice that shows the quality and the standards of sea water. There are also several beaches available ranging from 5 to 25 km distance away from Alanya. Those are Mahmutlar beach in east and Ulaş, Fuğla and İncekum beaches are in west.

Caves: There are several caves in Alanya. The most famous of them is certainly Damlatas cave where patients suffering from asthma can be cured. The cave is about west side of historical Alanya city and back side of Damlatas beach. The formation period of the stalactite and stalagmites inside the cave are estimated as 15000 years. Temperature in the cave is stable as 22 Celsius and humidity is 95 per cent.

Dim cave is 12 km away from Alanya city centre, situated in the slope of Cebel-i Reis, its altitude is 232 meters, and it was inaugurated in 1998 for the first time. There is a small lake in the cave where the stalactite and stalagmites are available. The cave’s age estimated as a million year old. It can be visited at any time from the Alanya city centre by using public transportations. Those who love to climb can easily go to the cave passing by Dim creek. Having seen the panoramic view of Alanya castle from the slope of the cave made you forget your tiredness.

Apart from these caves, there are three caves (Aşıklar cave, Fosforlu cave), which are close to the public and third one (Korsanlar cave) is also close to the public but can be accessed via the sea. The outcome of the excavations done in Kadıini cave, which has shown that 200000 years old human skeleton found that the city is believed to be the oldest settlement in the region.

Korsanlar and Fosforlu caves are on the excursion route, small boats can draw near to the caves or it can be visited by swimming. Both of the caves have got brightly shinning clean water and their formation of bottom is attracted by everyone. The third cave can be accessed from the sea is Aşıklar cave, which has two entrance. The first entrance is the easiest one but the second one is eight meters up from the sea level. Exit from the second entrance is the most excited one.

Mountain, Forest and Pasture: Although Alanya is on the coast of the Mediterranean, its back rests on Western Taurus, it is at a distance of a single step to the beauties portrayed by Taurus Mountain. First of all, being the rich faunas; together with pine trees, cedar woods, the Taurus Mountain gives the uniqueness of charming streams, spring waters and pastures. Those who visit the region would get into the nature in picnic excursion and pastures.

Picnic excursion: Enchanted forest nature in jungle excursion as relaxing environment, pasture road sides and fountains during the summer time have been well visited by many tourists. While going through high lands, along with Dim and Oba stream, it can be explored that dining and beverage services, which are charged, can be served on the tables placed in the stream as a result of rapid shrunk water in the excursion facilities and you can also swim in this cool stream water.

Pasture: Beginning from XI. Century, it is a thousand-year's Turkomen tradition that they go to pasture and spend the summer there. The pasturage culture today exists in the luxurious cottages instead of the tents for people who are either local Alanians or foreign tourists to go there and have a cool weekend holiday. In order to respond to the demand, local family businesses are spread out. They provide local beverages such as deep-fried Turkish pancake and airan (drink made of yogurt) in authentic tents pitched in the pastures or under shady spots. Beside that there are also local restaurants serve beef, fish and salads and local tea places that serve tea. Those who do not have a private car, they can rent vehicles from local travel agencies in the pastures or they can participate in organized travel tour packages include jeep, and safari tours.

The main attractive and farther destinations within an hour or so from pastures by transport, also looking at transport, facility and climate point of view; they are Türbelinas, Söğüt, Türktaş and Dereköy pastures, Mahmutseydi and Gedevet pastures are on the way to Tüberlinas pasture, Kaş, Sapadere and Tokar pastures are on the way to Söğüt pasture and Toker, Pınarbaşı, Söbüçimen and Gökbel are the another pastures in the region
